01 — The idea
Thin frames can only ever be black
Put caramel on a wire rim and you get a thread of brown nobody notices. The colour needs somewhere to sit. That is the real reason thick frames come in interesting shades and thin ones almost never do — and it is why a bold rectangle is the shape to buy if you want the frame itself to be the colour in an outfit.
02 — Design
Bold, but still a rectangle
Thickness and size are two different decisions, and most brands change both at once. Here the front is substantial but the lens stays a moderate rectangle, so the frame reads as confident rather than as oversized.
The upper rim is the heaviest part and sits just under the brow line, which is what gives the face a defined edge without adding height.

03 — Build
Colour that goes all the way through
There are two ways to make a caramel frame. You can colour the material itself, or you can spray a dark frame and hope nobody scratches it. The second one is cheaper, and you find out which you bought the first time the frame catches a zip.
Under the frame the lenses are polarized, so reflected glare is filtered rather than dimmed, with the full UV400 block across all five colourways.

04 — Versatility
The frame does the work, so the outfit does not have to.

Before you order
Is a thick frame heavy?
Heavier than a wire frame, lighter than it looks — the material is far less dense than metal. Most of the weight sits on the bridge rather than the ears.
Which colour is the safest first buy?
Tortoise. It contains several tones at once, so it reads as a neutral against almost any hair colour and any wardrobe. Caramel is the next easiest.
Will a bold frame suit a small face?
The lens here is a moderate rectangle, not an oversized one, so the weight is in the rim rather than the footprint. That is the combination that works on smaller faces.

Caramel and lilac are made in single runs. When a shade sells out, the next batch is a different one — black and tortoise are the only two we hold continuously.
