01 — The idea
The same watch, minus the thing that wears out
Leather is the part of a watch with a service life. Swap it for a woven steel mesh and the piece stops being something you protect from the weather and becomes something you stop thinking about.
02 — Design
Empty dial, one counter
No numerals, no batons, no minute track — a single flat field of colour with two hands over it, and one small running seconds counter set into the face at six.
The mesh changes how the whole thing reads. Where the leather version is quiet and soft, the woven band gives the case a hard edge and makes the empty dial look more deliberate.
At 3.4 cm on a 22 mm band, the case and the band are almost the same width, which is what keeps the pebble shape looking held rather than perched.
03 — Build
A band you can actually rinse
Mesh does not absorb anything. Sweat, rain, hand cream — it wipes off and the weave goes back to what it was. That is the practical argument for steel over leather on a watch you intend to wear every day.

Three pair a rose gold-tone case and mesh with a white, black or rose dial. The fourth runs black through the whole piece — case, band and face — which is the most severe of the four.
06 — The value
Why this makes sense
Mesh is woven from fine wire rather than stamped and pinned, and at 22 mm wide the weave has to hold its tension across the full band or it sags. It costs more to make than a link bracelet and considerably more than a strap.
Add a real small seconds complication on an empty dial and there is nothing here doing the cheap version of itself.

How does the mesh band size?
The clasp slides along the mesh and locks where you set it, so it fits without removing links or punching holes.
Mesh or leather?
Mesh if you wear it daily and want to stop worrying about rain. Leather if you want it softer and warmer against the wrist — we carry the same case on a leather strap as well.
What is the small dial at six?
A running seconds counter. The main hands show hours and minutes and the small hand sweeps the seconds separately.
