01 — The idea
A gradient behaves differently with nothing to stop it
In a framed pair, the tint fades downward and meets a rim, which reads as a border and finishes the effect. Remove the rim and the colour simply thins out until the lens ends — so the pair appears to dissolve at the bottom rather than stop. It is the one visual effect you cannot get any other way.
02 — Design
A wing with no frame to draw it
On an ordinary cat eye the upswept corner is made of frame material. Here there is none, so the rise has to be cut into the lens itself — the outer edge climbs and the glass ends in a point.
It is the most demanding version of the shape to produce and the lightest to wear. Two of the six are named for the fade rather than the colour, because on those the transition is the point.

03 — Build
A point is the weakest part of any lens
Cutting a lens to a sharp outer corner concentrates stress exactly where the material is thinnest. On a framed pair the rim carries that load; on a rimless one the glass has to carry it alone, which is why the corner finish matters more here than anywhere else in eyewear.
The lenses are polarized, so reflected flare is filtered rather than dimmed, with the full UV400 block across all six.

Before you order
What is the difference between Purple and Fading Purple?
Purple carries the colour across most of the lens. Fading Purple concentrates it at the top and lets it thin out toward the bottom edge, so more of your eye shows through.
Is a rimless cat eye fragile?
More vulnerable than a framed one, particularly at the outer corner. Handle them with two hands and keep them in the case and they will last; drop them face down and they will not.
How does this compare to your rimless hexagon?
Same rimless construction, opposite intention. The hexagon is geometric and unisex; this one is a cat eye and unmistakably a statement shape.
