01 — The idea
A tan that is not a beige
The maker calls it brown; it is really a warm caramel, several shades lighter than the name suggests. That matters, because a mid-tan is the one brown that reads as a colour in its own right rather than as a beige that gave up.
02 — Design
The flap is the whole design
The front flap is cut as a smaller half-moon set inside the larger one, so the outline repeats itself and the seam between them does the decorating. There is no logo plate, no buckle and no chain — just a single gold stud where the flap closes.
The strap fixes through gold rings at the top corners and is studded along its length, which is the only other metal on the bag.
The finish is smooth with a light surface grain, and on a tan that texture is what keeps the panel from looking flat under a single colour.

Can it be worn crossbody?

How brown is it?
Lighter than the name. This is a warm caramel tan rather than a chocolate or a chestnut — closer to a camel coat than to a dark leather. A phone up to an iPhone 14 Pro Max fits, and a long wallet lies flat at 28.5 cm wide.
Is this real leather?
No. The maker lists vegan leather for both the exterior and the lining — a synthetic material used in place of animal hide.
How much does it hold?
A phone, a wallet, keys, sunglasses and a compact. At 5 cm deep it is wide rather than roomy, so a water bottle or a folded umbrella will not sit comfortably in it.
