Deliberately unremarkable
A square metal rim in a moderate size is the most broadly acceptable frame there is. It suits men and women, it does not belong to a decade, and there is nothing in the shape that needs to agree with what you are wearing.

A car is the worst place to keep sunglasses
A dashboard in summer reaches temperatures that soften frame materials and fade a tint faster than years of sunlight ever would. If a pair is going to live in a vehicle, it needs a metal rim rather than a moulded one, and it needs to go back in its case.
The lenses are polarized, which is the right filter for a driving pair — reflected glare off a wet road or a bonnet is removed rather than merely dimmed. Full UV400 block on all six.

Is this a compromise pair?
Not in the lens — it carries the same polarizing filter and the same UV400 block as everything else we sell. What makes it a good spare is the shape, not a lower specification.
Can I really leave them in the car?
In the glovebox, in the case, yes. On the dashboard in direct sun, no — that is what ages a lens faster than anything else, on any pair at any price.
How does this differ from your other square metal frames?
We carry three. One is built around the choice between gold and silver, one around a mirrored lens option. This is the plainest of the three.
