01 — The idea
The shape almost nobody makes any more
A barrel case bows outwards at the sides instead of running straight. It was everywhere ninety years ago and it has been quietly abandoned since, because curved cases are harder to tool and harder to fit glass to.
02 — Design
Numerals that fill the face
Twelve Arabic numerals, drawn large and set right out to the edge of the dial. There is no minute track and no spare space — the numbers themselves are the decoration, and they get bigger towards the middle of each side to follow the curve of the case.
A small seconds counter sits at six, recessed into the dial rather than printed on it.
At 38 × 32 mm the case is mid-size, and the 10 mm thickness keeps it flat enough to pass under a sleeve.
03 — Build
Why curved cases went out of fashion
Glass has to be cut to match a barrel outline exactly, and the strap has to meet the case at an angle rather than square on. Both add steps that a round case simply does not need, and both are the reason the shape disappeared from the cheap end of the market.

A shaped case costs more to tool than a round one, and a small seconds counter is a real complication rather than a printed circle. Neither is what you would put on a watch built purely to a price.

Does it come in a gift box?
No. This one ships as the watch alone. If you need it boxed for a gift, our presentation-box models are the ones to look at.
Can I get the leather wet?
Keep it dry. Water stiffens and darkens leather permanently. The strap is a standard fitting, so it can be swapped for steel or silicone if you want something that handles rain.
Is 38 × 32 mm large?
It is mid-size. A barrel case reads slightly narrower than its width because the sides curve inwards at the top and bottom, so it wears smaller than the numbers suggest.
