01 — The idea
The pearl that was not made round
Perfectly spherical pearls are the exception, not the rule. Baroque ones — lobed, off-axis, faintly lumpy — are what most pearls actually look like, and they catch light in a far more interesting way than a sphere ever does.
02 — Design
A bezel that follows the stone
The setting is not a neat oval frame with a pearl dropped into it. The metal has been worked to trace the actual outline of this stone, rising where the pearl rises and pinching in where it narrows.
Its surface is left rough rather than polished flat. Against the smooth surface of the pearl that contrast is the entire design — one matte, irregular, handled-looking; the other glossy and still.
At roughly 25 mm the face covers most of the finger between the knuckles. This is a ring meant to be the only one on the hand.

Bezel, not claws
The pearl is held by a continuous rim of metal rather than by prongs. Claws catch on knitwear and bend outward over time; a bezel has nothing to snag and nothing to spring open, which matters on a stone this size.

What size is it?

Will my pearl look exactly like the photo?
No — and that is the point. Baroque pearls are irregular by definition, so the outline, the lobes and the way the light sits will differ from the one photographed.
Is it too big for everyday?
At roughly 25 mm across the face it is a statement piece. It works on a bare hand; it will fight with anything else you put on the same finger.
How should I look after it?
Keep it out of water, perfume and hand cream. Pearl surfaces are softer than stone and dull when they are repeatedly wetted, so take the ring off before washing up.
