01 — The idea
A pearl stud that is not a dot
The classic pearl stud is a single sphere on a post — correct, and completely silent. Adding an open ring around it changes what it does: there is now a line, a shadow and an asymmetry, and the earring reads as something chosen rather than something default.
02 — Design
Off-centre on purpose
The pearl does not sit in the middle of the ring. It is pushed towards one side, which leaves an open crescent of gold on the other and stops the earring from reading as a plain circle.
The ring itself is not an even wire either — it widens where it overlaps and narrows again, so the light runs unevenly around it instead of forming a hard ring of glare.
At roughly 18 mm overall it is large enough to be seen from across a table, but flat enough to sit close to the lobe.
03 — Build
Brass under the gold
The body is brass with a gold plating. Brass is denser than the alloys usually used at this size, which is why the earring has weight in the hand without the pearl needing to be hollow. The posts are nickel free.

Before you order
Are the pearls real?
No. They are imitation pearls. At 10 mm, matched natural pearls would cost many times the price of the whole earring — imitation is what allows the pair to be identical.
Will they irritate my ears?
The posts are nickel free, which covers the most common metal sensitivity. If you react to plated metals in general, these are unlikely to be the exception.
How long does the plating last?
Plating is a surface. Put the earrings on last when you dress, keep perfume and hairspray off them, and take them off before swimming or showering.
Are the measurements exact?
The sizes here are close approximations taken from the product photographs rather than figures from the maker. Expect small variation.
