01 — The idea
A frame either works with your face or sits on it
Most sunglasses are a rectangle held in front of your eyes. A cat eye is the one shape that does something: the outer corner lifts, and the whole face reads a little sharper. That is why the shape has outlasted every trend that came after it.
02 — Design
The lift is in the corner, not the size
A cat eye fails when it is exaggerated — the corner spikes upward and the frame starts wearing you. Here the rise is gradual and stops early, so the shape is unmistakable at a glance but stays wearable at a dinner table.
The front is cut from acetate rather than injected. Colour in acetate runs through the material and has depth in it, which is why a tortoise or a beige frame looks like a material instead of like paint.

03 — Build
A dark lens is not the same as a safe lens
This is the part nobody checks. A tinted lens makes the pupil open wider; if that lens has no UV filter, more ultraviolet reaches the eye than with no sunglasses at all. Cheap sunglasses are not neutral — they are worse than none.
These carry a full UV400 filter, which blocks 100% of UVA and UVB. The tint is a styling choice; the protection is not optional.

Before you order
Will a cat eye suit my face?
It is the most forgiving of the statement shapes. The upswept corner adds angle, which reads well on round and heart-shaped faces and balances a strong jaw. If your usual frames are square, this is the easiest shape to move to.
Is a gradient lens dark enough for strong sun?
At the top, where you look when the sun is high, yes. The clearing toward the bottom is what lets you read a menu or a phone without lifting them. For hours of direct midday glare, a solid lens is the better tool.
How do I keep the lenses clear?
Rinse with water first, then dry with the cloth supplied. Wiping dust straight off a dry lens is what puts the fine scratches there.
