01 — The idea
Crystals are the easiest way to stop people looking at the case
Set a bezel and the eye goes to the light, not to the shape underneath it. Leave the bezel plain and there is nothing between the buyer and the proportions — the width of the facets, the depth of the case, whether the corners line up. It is the harder version of the same watch to get right.
02 — Design
Four colours, none of them loud
Stone grey, black blue, white blue, blue gold. This is the restrained half of the octagonal family — the same architecture as our crystal-set version, without the bright rubber and without the stones.
It is the one to take if you like the shape but not the attention. A faceted case in stone grey reads as engineering; the same case in volt reads as a statement.

03 — Build
Where to look on a plain faceted case
Hold it at an angle to a window. Each face should return a clean band of light with a sharp break where it meets the next one. If the bands blur into each other the edges were rounded off in finishing — which is quicker, cheaper, and the reason most faceted cases look soft.
Then check that the strap lugs sit symmetrically against two opposite faces rather than across a corner.

Before you order
How does this differ from your crystal-set octagonal watch?
Same case architecture. That one has a set bezel and bright rubber straps; this one has a plain bezel and a muted palette. Choose by how much attention you want it to draw.
Do the sub-dials work?
Treat the multi-dial layout as part of the face design. The watch tells the time with the main hands — that is what it is built to do and what it does reliably.
Can I wear it in the shower?
It carries a 3 ATM rating, so splashes, rain and washing your hands are not a problem. We do not recommend swimming or hot showers with it on.
