Wider than it is tall, on purpose
Most bags this size make you stand a phone on its end. This one is 24 cm across and only 12 cm high, so a phone lies down flat inside it — which is the difference between a bag that takes your things and one you have to negotiate with.

The body is woven canvas in a pale natural colour, with a fine, even grain that reads as texture rather than pattern. Above it, the flap, the top band, the handle and the side gussets are a smooth brown — a hard line between the two, held straight all the way round.
The hardware is kept small against that: one gold turn closure at the centre of the flap, and round studs where the strap rings sit. On a bag this shallow, anything larger would be the only thing you saw.
