01 — The idea
A red bag that is not loud
Most red bags are shiny, and shine is what makes a colour shout. This one is matt, in a deep claret with brown underneath it, on a shape that folds and settles rather than standing to attention. The colour is the whole statement — nothing else on the bag competes with it.
02 — Design
The sides fold in
This is not a rigid box. The gussets are cut to collapse inwards at a set point, so the bag narrows when it is light and opens out when it is full, and the flap sits flat either way. That is what keeps a soft bag from turning into a sack.
The gold fittings are three: a turn closure at the centre of the flap, a pair of anchors where the handle meets the body, and rings for the strap. There is no plate, no stamp and nothing repeated across the front.
The handle is rolled and short at 7 cm of drop — a hand carry, which is what the separate strap is there to complement.

Two pockets, not one
