01 — The idea
A chain that does not need a pendant
Most fine chains are a delivery system for something else. Twisting the links gives the chain its own surface: dozens of small facets running round the neck, each catching light at a different angle, so nothing has to hang from it.
02 — Design
Flattened links, then turned
Each link is pressed flat and then set at an angle to the one before it. The result is a continuous spiral rather than a row of identical loops, which is why the chain reads as textured from a distance instead of as a plain line.
It also means the chain has no correct side. However it settles on the neck, it looks the same — there is no clasp to keep chasing round to the back.
The gauge is deliberately fine. At this width the twist is visible without the chain ever becoming the loudest thing you are wearing.

Brass under the plating
The chain is gold-plated brass. Brass is the traditional base for plated jewellery because it takes a gold layer evenly and holds its shape — a twisted chain in a softer alloy would gradually straighten out where it sits against the neck.

Before you order
Does it come with a pendant?
No. This is the chain on its own. The shimmer in the photographs is the twist of the links catching light, not stones set into it.
How long is it?
The maker does not state a length, so we have estimated approximately 45 cm from the photographs — sitting at the base of the neck. Ask before ordering if the exact length matters.
Will the plating last?
Gold plating is a surface. Put it on after perfume and hairspray, take it off before swimming, and dry it if it gets wet — that is most of the difference between a season and years.
Can I wear it with other chains?
