Watch dials have been round for four hundred years
Hands sweep a circle, so a circle is the obvious shape. Choosing a triangle means accepting a harder layout problem for one reason: nobody expects it, and that is exactly why it registers.

Three sides, one problem solved
Hands rotate in a circle, so a triangular dial leaves three corners the hands never reach. Here those corners are absorbed by the crystal bezel, which frames the shape rather than fighting it.
The mesh band is deliberately plain. With a dial this unusual, a link bracelet would have made the whole piece shout.
