01 — The idea
Long, low and faceted
Most bags are taller than they are wide. This one is the reverse — 39 cm across and only 12.5 cm high, with the ends folded into facets rather than rounded off. It is the proportion that makes it recognisable from the other side of a room.
02 — Design
Folded, not curved
The ends of the body are folded into flat planes that meet at an angle, so the bag has edges and corners where most soft bags have a curve. In faux suede those planes each catch the light differently — the facets are visible as changes in tone, not as seams.
The handles are very slim and rise to a narrow point above the bag, which keeps the top line uncluttered.
A gold zip runs the full 39 cm of the opening, and the interior is lined in a pale polyester that makes the contents easy to find in a bag this long.

Folded facets have to be cut on the pattern and pressed to fold in exactly the same place on both ends, or the bag looks buckled rather than faceted. There is no frame holding them — the planes hold themselves, which only works if every panel is cut to the millimetre.
Suede also has to be cut with the nap running the same direction across every one of those planes, or the two ends of the bag end up different shades. That is material wasted for the sake of looking right.
