01 — The idea
A colour that behaves like a texture
Olive is already a muted, dusty green. Put it in a napped suede that absorbs light rather than reflecting it and the colour stops reading as a colour at all — the bag registers as surface first, and you only name the shade afterwards.

Wide bands, and a rope in metal
The body is built from wide woven bands rather than the thin strips used on most basket weaves. Fewer, broader pieces means the pattern stays legible on a bag this size instead of turning into texture you have to be close to read.
The handle is a rigid twisted rope cast in silver-tone metal, fixed through rings at both sides. It does not fold flat, and it is what gives the bag its outline when it sits on a table.

Will a suede weave mark?
A napped surface holds water marks more readily than a coated one, so keep it out of the rain and brush it rather than wipe it. A dark olive hides everyday wear far better than a pale bag would.
How much does it hold?
