01 — The idea
Take everything off the dial and see what is left
No numerals, no batons, no minute track. Just a flat field of colour and two hands. It is a harder face to design than a busy one, because nothing is there to hide behind.
02 — Design
A square that gave up its corners
The case is a cushion — square in outline but rounded at every corner, so it holds the graphic weight of a rectangle without the sharp edges that dig into a wrist bone.
Inside it, the dial is a single flat colour taken straight from the strap. Red on red, black on black. That matching is what makes a 4 cm case read as one object rather than a face strapped to a band.
The hands are rose gold and hairline thin, the only bright thing on the whole piece.

The case is sealed to 50 m, which is a genuinely high rating for a dress watch. The leather is the part that will not take a soaking though — it stiffens and darkens long before the case ever leaks.

Before you order
Can I swim in it if the case is 50 m?
The case would take it; the leather strap would not. Water stiffens and darkens leather permanently, so treat this as a watch to keep dry and change the strap if you ever want to get it wet.
Is a dial with no markers hard to read?
You read it by hand position rather than by number, which takes a day to get used to and then becomes automatic. If you want markers, our other models have them.
Is 4.0 cm large on a small wrist?
It is a full-size case. The rounded corners cut the visual footprint, so it wears smaller than a true square of the same width — but it is still meant to be seen.
