01 — The idea
Canvas makes an evening shape daytime
This outline — long, low, zipped along the top — usually belongs to a dinner. Built in canvas with a brown band, it belongs to a Tuesday as well. It is the same bag doing twice the work, and the material is the only thing that changed.

The body is a pale natural canvas with a fine, even grain that reads as texture rather than pattern. The band across the top, the flat handle set into it and the side panels are a smooth brown, and the line between the two runs dead straight the whole way round.
The zip runs the full width of the opening, with a plain gold pull. Nothing else on the front is metal, and nothing is stamped or printed anywhere.
Inside there is one slit pocket, and the lining is polyester rather than a raw finish.

Is the brown part leather?
No. The maker lists canvas as the main material and polyester for the lining; the brown trim is a smooth synthetic finish, not animal hide. Nothing on this bag is stated as leather.
Can it be carried by the handle?
Only briefly. The handle drop is 3 cm, enough to lift the bag from a table but not to clear a hand comfortably. The 49 to 56 cm strap is how this bag is meant to be worn.
Does canvas mark?
A pale canvas will show a scuff sooner than a dark one. Treat it like a pale shoe — keep it off wet ground, and lift marks with a damp cloth before they set.
