01 — The idea
Texture instead of decoration
There is no print on this bag, no plate, no chain and no contrast trim. Everything interesting about it is built into the surface — an open weave knotted across the whole lower body, in exactly the same colour as the smooth panel above it.
02 — Design
Knotted, not printed
The lower body is a real openwork weave: narrow strips knotted into a lattice that lets the light through, wrapping the front, the sides and the back without a break. It is the kind of surface that photographs flat and looks completely different in the hand.
Above it sits a smooth band in the same deep claret, with a short flat handle set into the top and a gold zip running the length of the opening.
The handle drop is only 3 cm. It is a lift-and-carry handle for picking the bag up off a table, not a way to carry it for an evening — that is what the strap is for.

Deep claret is an evening colour that works in daylight.

Can you see through the weave?
The lattice is genuinely open, so light passes through it. The maker does not state a lining material for this bag, so we cannot promise the contents are fully hidden — assume small pale items may show against the dark weave.
Can it be carried by the handle?
