01 — The idea
A polished watch only looks expensive in a photograph
Mirror finishes are photographed under studio lights, which is the one condition where they look their best. On an overcast afternoon a polished bezel is a flat grey ring — and by the second month it is a flat grey ring covered in hairline scratches. A cut pattern behaves the opposite way in both situations.
02 — Design
Shadow is the second material
A cut pattern has two tones in it at all times: the raised surface and the shadow inside the recess. That means it reads as texture in any light, indoors, outdoors, under cloud — there is always a dark side to the cut.
The dial behind it is kept simple for the usual reason. A patterned bezel and a patterned dial cancel each other out.

A pattern that ages better than a polish
Every watch picks up hairline marks on the bezel — it is the part that meets door frames and desks. On a mirror finish each one is a bright line across a dark surface. On a textured one they disappear into the pattern within a week of wearing it.
This is not a claim that it does not scratch. It is that you will not see it, which for most people is the same thing.

Silver and gold are the two that match existing jewellery outright. Gold Black is the sharpest of the six. Rose and Rose Gold are the warmest. Silver Gold sits between the families.

Before you order
How do I clean a textured bezel?
A dry soft brush around the pattern. The recesses collect more dust than a flat surface does, and that is the only maintenance it needs.
How does this differ from your crystal bezel watch?
That one uses set stones around the rim; this one uses a cut pattern in the metal itself. Stones for evening sparkle, texture for everyday wear.
Can I wear it in the shower?
It carries a 3 ATM rating, so splashes, rain and washing your hands are not a problem. We do not recommend swimming or hot showers with it on.
