01 — The idea
A rectangle on a short strap always finds your ribs
Held under the arm, a squared bag presses on two corners and the whole weight arrives at those two points. A curved base spreads the same load along an arc and follows the line of the body rather than fighting it. This is why the shape keeps coming back, and it has nothing to do with how it photographs.
02 — Design
Brushed leather, and what the finish is doing
Brushing raises a very fine nap on the surface of the calf leather. It takes the shine off, so the panel reads as a solid block of colour instead of a series of highlights — on a curved shape that matters, because a glossy finish turns every bend into a bright line and visually breaks the bag into pieces.
The same finish is more forgiving day to day. A brushed surface scatters light, so the small scuffs any bag collects do not catch the eye the way they do on patent or high-shine leather.

03 — Build
Six centimetres is the hardest depth to build
Slim bags flex. With only 6 cm between the front and back panels there is very little structure holding them apart, so the whole bag depends on a properly formed base and clean side seams — otherwise it folds in the middle within a season.
The interior is lined with a pocket set into the back panel, which is the only place a pocket can go in a bag this slim without stealing the space you actually bought it for.

Built for the short list, not the long one
Phone, card holder, keys, a lipstick and a folded pair of sunglasses. That is the honest capacity of a 6 cm bag and it is the capacity most evenings and most city afternoons actually require. Anything that needs a water bottle needs a different bag.
05 — Proportions
Why 27 × 22 works and 30 × 22 would not
A shoulder bag worn under the arm has a natural upper limit: past roughly 28 cm of width it stops sitting in the hollow between the arm and the body and starts riding on the elbow. At 27 cm this one stays where it is put.
Twenty-two centimetres of height, with the curve taken out of the base, means the opening is wide enough to reach into without looking — the thing you notice on the tenth day, not the first.
06 — The value
Why this makes sense
A curved bag costs more to cut and sew than a squared one. Every panel is a shaped piece rather than a rectangle, the base has to be formed rather than folded, and the seams follow an arc where a straight seam would do. None of that is visible in a photograph, which is why it is the first thing removed when a shape like this is made down to a price.

Before you order
Does it fit over a coat?
On the shoulder, yes, over a shirt or a light jacket. The handle is fixed and sized to sit close to the body, so over a heavy winter coat it will be tight — this is a bag built to sit under the arm, not to hang low.
How much does it actually hold?
A phone, a card holder, keys, a lipstick and folded sunglasses. At 6 cm deep it is a considered bag rather than a carry-everything one.
Will brushed leather mark?
Less than smooth or patent leather. The raised nap scatters light and everyday scuffs largely disappear into it. Wipe with a dry soft cloth, never a wet one.

A pale brushed leather has to be cut from the cleanest part of the hide, which limits how many bags come out of each batch. When a run sells through, the next one waits for the leather.
