01 — The idea
A small bag is only worth carrying if it is properly organised inside
Most compact bags are a single pouch: everything falls to the bottom and you empty the bag on a table to find a card. This one is divided into two compartments behind the flap, which at 4 cm of depth is the difference between a bag you can use standing up and one you cannot.
02 — Design
Structured grained leather, because a small bag has to stand up
On a large bag, soft leather reads as luxury. On a small one it reads as empty — a 15 cm panel with nothing behind it caves in the moment the bag is not full. The grained calf leather here is firm enough to hold the rectangle on its own, so the shape is the same whether there is a phone inside or not.
The grain also earns its place practically: a pebbled surface breaks up light across the panel, and on a bag this size every mark is proportionally larger and more visible than it would be on a tote.

03 — Build
The flap hinge takes everything
A flap bag has one moving part and it is used every time the bag is opened. The leather at the fold thins over years of being bent in the same place, which is why the panel there is the piece worth paying for — and the first one thinned down when a bag of this kind is made cheaply.
Behind it, two compartments in smooth leather rather than fabric. Leather-lined compartments hold their shape open; a fabric lining in a 4 cm bag simply closes itself.

04 — Versatility
Shoulder or across the body, and nothing in between
The strap adjusts to around 50 cm, which puts the bag on the hip when crossed and just under the arm on the shoulder. It is not a bag that converts into six things. It does two, and it is the right size for both.
05 — What fits
Honestly, and in full
A phone, a card case, keys, a lipstick and a folded pair of sunglasses — with the phone in one compartment and everything else in the other. That is what 18 × 15 × 4 holds, and no description should claim otherwise.
A full wallet with a coin section will go in but will use most of one side. If you carry one, this is an evening and short-errand bag rather than an all-day one.

Why this makes sense
Small bags are where corners get cut hardest, because buyers assume less leather means a lower price and stop asking what the leather is. But a compact structured bag needs firmer, more carefully selected hide than a slouchy one twice its size — soft leather simply will not hold a 15 cm panel.

Before you order
Is the strap adjustable?
Yes, to around 50 cm. That covers on-the-shoulder and across-the-body; it is not long enough to hang at the knee, which on a bag this size would look wrong anyway.
Will a large phone fit?
Yes. At 18 cm wide the bag takes a large-format phone flat in one of the two compartments, with the second compartment still free.
Does the flap stay shut on its own?
It does. There is a magnetic closure behind the clasp, so the bag holds itself shut whether or not the clasp is engaged.

A warm cognac is the hardest tone to match between batches of leather, so it is dyed once. When this run is gone the next will not be an exact match, and will not be sold as one.
