01 — The idea
Long straps are comfortable. Short straps are controlled.
A crossbody hangs at the hip and moves independently of you — it swings on stairs, catches on chair arms and has to be pushed back into place. A short strap holds the bag high under the arm where it travels with your body instead of against it. Neither is better; they are different bags, and this one has committed.
02 — Design
The elongated shape is doing the work
Wider than it is tall, with a shallow depth — the proportion is what keeps a bag this small from looking like a pouch. A squarer version of the same volume sits awkwardly under the arm; a long, low rectangle follows the line of the body and reads as deliberate.
A dark brown leather rather than black is the other half of the decision. Black is the safe answer and disappears; a deep brown carries warmth against denim, camel and cream, and still behaves like a neutral.

03 — Build
A full-length zip is harder than a clasp
It has to run true along the entire opening while the bag flexes under the arm, which means the top edge needs to be reinforced enough to keep the zip line straight. When a small bag opens crookedly or catches halfway, this is always why.
The strap is fixed rather than clipped. Clips add a failure point and a rattle; on a bag designed around one carrying position there is nothing to gain from them.

High on the side, roughly at the bottom of the ribs, tucked into the hollow under the arm. That position is why the shape works: the bag is held in place by your own arm rather than by the strap, so it stays put through stairs, crowds and public transport.
It is worth knowing before you order that this is the only way it is worn. There is no extension, and no crossbody position.

Before you order
Can it be worn across the body?
No. The strap is short and fixed — it is built for one carrying position, high under the arm. If you need a crossbody, this is the wrong shape and it is better to know that now.
What fits inside?
A phone, cards, keys and a lipstick. It is a genuinely compact bag and the dimensions are not going to surprise you in a good way.
Is the strap adjustable?
It is not. The strap is sewn at a fixed length, which is what keeps the bag sitting where it is meant to and removes the clips that usually fail first.
