01 — The idea
Most bags are flat because flat is cheap to make
Two panels and a thin gusset is the simplest construction there is, and it produces a bag that holds a phone and a wallet and nothing with any thickness to it. A bowling shape is built around a deep, curved body — more panels, more seams, more material — and the result is a bag that takes a folded jumper without looking full.
02 — Design
A double zip over a curved top
Running a zip along a curve is considerably harder than running one along a straight edge. The tape has to be eased around the bend without puckering, which is why most deep bags of this kind close with a flap or a drawstring instead — both cheaper, both less secure.
Two pulls rather than one means the bag opens from either end, and that it can be opened part-way. On a 25 cm opening that is the difference between reaching in and having the whole bag gaping.

03 — Build
Nine hundred grams before you put anything in it
That weight is not a fault — it is structured leather, a formed base and hardware sized for a loaded bag. But it does mean the handle mounts are carrying more than on a soft bag of the same dimensions, and it is why the handles here are set into reinforced tabs rather than stitched flat to the body.
The two-tone treatment does a practical job as well as a visual one. A flat black panel shows every scuff as a grey line; a raised pattern in a second tone breaks the surface into small areas, and the same marks stop reading as damage.

04 — Versatility
Handles for the office. Strap for everything else.
Two short top handles put the bag in the hand or in the crook of the arm, which is how a structured shape is meant to be carried. The strap comes off entirely and is adjustable, so when the bag is loaded to its 15 cm depth you are not carrying nine hundred grams plus contents on two fingers.
05 — Capacity
What the depth actually buys you
A folded jumper, a wash bag, a wallet, a bottle standing upright and a book — at the same time. Fifteen centimetres of depth on a 25 cm frame is roughly the volume of a small weekend bag in a shape that still reads as a handbag.
It will not take a laptop. At 25 cm wide and with a curved top the opening is not the right shape for anything flat and rigid, and it is better to say so than to let you find out.
06 — The value
Why this makes sense
Depth costs material. A 15 cm gusset uses roughly three times the leather of the 5 cm one on a flat bag, and it has to be structured or the sides collapse inward and the volume is lost. That is the real reason deep bags are rarer at any given price, and it has nothing to do with fashion.

Before you order
Is 0.9 kg heavy?
For a structured leather bag of this size, it is normal — and it is the honest consequence of a formed body and real hardware. A bag of the same dimensions at half the weight is not using the same materials.
Will a laptop fit?
No. The opening curves and the bag is 25 cm wide, so anything flat and rigid does not go in cleanly. This is a bag for soft, bulky things rather than for flat ones.
Does it stand up when empty?
Yes. The body is structured and the base is formed, so the silhouette is the same on a table as it is in the photographs.
