01 — The idea
The wallet is the problem with a compact bag
Most of what fills a small bag is not what you need — it is the container for what you need. A cardholder is a stiff rectangle that takes up the same room whether it holds two cards or ten, and in a bag this size it is almost always the largest single object inside. Build the slot into the lining and that object disappears. What is left is your phone, your keys, and whatever you actually chose to bring.

Grained leather on a shape that falls
The body is cut with a curved base and no internal frame, so the bag settles into a soft shape rather than standing in a fixed one. A grained surface suits that: the pebbling catches light unevenly, which reads as depth across a fold where smooth leather would read as one flat highlight.

03 — Build
Set into the lining, not sewn onto it
A pocket stitched onto a lining adds a seam, and on a soft bag a seam in the wrong place shows through the leather from the outside. Set into the lining panel instead, the card slot adds no thickness and there is nothing to feel through the side of the bag.
The lining itself is suede in a matching tone. Suede does not slip, so in a bag with one opening and no dividers the contents stay where you put them rather than migrating to a bottom corner while you walk.

Can it be worn across the body?
No. The strap is fixed at a hand-and-shoulder length, so the bag sits high under the arm. There is no extension and no crossbody position.
How do I care for grained leather?
Wipe with a dry soft cloth. The grain hides everyday marks on its own — conditioner collects in the recesses of a pebbled finish and darkens them unevenly, so it is better left alone.
