01 — The idea
"Adjustable" is not a measurement
Almost every crossbody bag is described as having an adjustable strap, and almost none of them tell you between which two lengths. Twenty centimetres of range is the difference between a bag that sits at the waist on one person and at the hip on another — and the only way to know whether it works for you is to compare the numbers against a strap you already own. So the numbers are here.
02 — Design
Jacquard body, leather flap
The pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed onto it, which is what jacquard means — the design is made of the threads themselves, so it cannot rub off at the corners the way a printed canvas does after a season of being set down on tables.
The flap, the trim and the strap tabs are smooth leather. Those are the parts that get handled, and cloth wears at exactly the points where a bag is touched most — so the two materials are placed according to what happens to them rather than for contrast.

03 — Build
A curved flap on a rectangular body
The flap follows an arc while the body below it is square-cut. That means the flap has to be shaped and edged along a curve and then land cleanly on a straight top line — a fit that is either right or visibly wrong, with nothing in between.
Eight centimetres of depth is what makes the shape work. Shallower and the curved flap would have to stretch over whatever is inside; at this depth it closes flat whether the bag is full or empty.

04 — Versatility
At its longest it crosses the body. Taken off, it is a clutch.
One hundred and fifteen centimetres is a genuine crossbody length, including over a coat. Shortened to ninety-five it sits higher, closer to the waist. And because the strap unclips completely rather than tucking away, the bag at 24 cm reads as a clutch with nothing left standing on the top edge.
05 — What fits
Twenty-four by seventeen by eight
A phone, a wallet, keys, a compact and sunglasses — comfortably, with the flap still closing flat. Eight centimetres is a real depth on a bag this width, and it is what separates a crossbody you can actually use all day from one that holds a phone and a card.
It will not take a tablet. Twenty-four centimetres of width is under the diagonal of most of them, and the curved flap narrows the opening further.
06 — The value
Why this makes sense
Woven jacquard costs more to produce than printed cloth and more than plain canvas, because the pattern is set up on the loom rather than applied afterwards. What you get for it is a pattern that is part of the fabric — it does not crack, fade at the folds or wear thin at the corners.

Before you order
Is 115 cm long enough to wear over a coat?
Yes. That is a full crossbody length for most people with an outer layer on. At 95 cm it sits noticeably higher, closer to the waist.
How do I clean woven canvas?
Brush it gently with a dry soft brush along the weave. Do not soak it — the leather trim and the canvas dry at different rates, and that is what causes a rim to appear along the join.
Does the strap come off completely?
Yes, at both ends. With it removed there is nothing standing proud on the top edge, which is why the bag works as a clutch rather than looking like a crossbody with its strap missing.

A jacquard is woven as a run of cloth, and the run determines how many bags can be cut from it. When the cloth is gone the pattern is not re-set for a small reorder.
