01 — The idea
A flap is secure and slow. A back pocket fixes the slow part.
Opening a flap bag is three actions: release the clasp, lift, reach. For a wallet that is fine. For a travel card, a phone or a key at a door it is three actions too many, which is why people end up carrying flap bags unfastened. A slip pocket on the back panel takes exactly those things — and being against your body, it is the most secure place on the bag as well as the fastest.
02 — Design
The clasp is a buckle, and it works like one
Not a magnet, not a hidden catch — a solid metal buckle that you can see is closed from across a room. On a small bag worn across the body that visible certainty is worth more than the convenience of a magnet, which you can never be sure has engaged until the bag is upside down.
The shape underneath is geometric and squared, with the flap cut as a clean rectangle rather than a curve. The buckle is the only ornament on the bag, and a plain body is what lets it be that.

03 — Build
Leather outside, canvas where it counts
The body is structured calf leather; the lining and parts of the construction are canvas. That combination is not a saving — canvas is lighter than leather and does not stretch, which on a small structured bag means the shape stays square and the weight stays down.
The back pocket is cut into the same panel rather than stitched on top. A pocket applied to the outside adds a seam and a shadow line; set into the panel it is invisible until you use it.

04 — Versatility
Twenty-two centimetres of strap adjustment
Ninety-six centimetres puts the bag at the waist; a hundred and eighteen drops it to the hip and clears a winter coat. Both numbers are published so you can compare them against a strap you already own rather than guessing from the word "adjustable".

Before you order
Does the back pocket close?
It is an open slip pocket, which is what makes it fast. Worn against the body it is the least accessible part of the bag to anyone else — but anything you would be upset to lose belongs behind the flap.
Will a large phone fit?
In the main compartment, yes, comfortably. In the back pocket, most large phones fit but sit proud of the opening — it is sized for cards, tickets and a slim phone.
Is the buckle fiddly?
It is a single-motion clasp rather than a threaded belt buckle — it opens with one hand. What it gives you is a closure you can see is engaged, which a magnet never provides.
