01 — The idea
Fourteen centimetres of undivided depth is a hole
It is a genuinely useful volume and a genuinely bad way to store anything. Everything ends up in a single pile at the bottom and the only way to find a key is to look. A zipped section running down the middle changes the geometry completely: two shallower compartments either side of it, each reachable without disturbing the other, and a closed space between them for whatever you do not want loose.
02 — Design
Coated canvas outside, microfibre inside
The body is a sealed printed canvas: it wipes clean, takes rain and will look the same in five years as it does now. The natural leather at the handle and base corners does the opposite — uncoated, it darkens with handling from pale honey into amber.
Inside, microfibre rather than textile. It is denser, does not pill along the seams and holds its colour in a bag where the interior is visible every time the flap is lifted.

03 — Build
Metal feet, because of where this bag lives
A 34 by 14 centimetre bag does not get hung on a hook — it goes on tables, desks, café floors and the passenger seat. The base takes all of that, every day, and on a canvas bag the base is the first place the coating wears through.
Feet lift it clear. It is the least glamorous component on the bag and it does more for how it looks in year three than anything else here.

04 — Versatility
A 20 cm handle drop, and a strap when that is not enough
Twenty centimetres clears a shoulder over a shirt and puts the bag high against the side, which is where a 34 cm width stays under control. The removable strap covers everything else — and comes off entirely, leaving a clean top line rather than empty clips.
05 — Capacity
A tablet, and the rest of a working day
An 11-inch tablet lies flat in one of the two compartments, with a long wallet, a phone, cosmetics and sunglasses in the other. The zipped section between them takes cards, keys and anything else that would otherwise reach the bottom.
At 0.7 kg empty it is light for a 34 cm bag with a structured base — the coated canvas is doing that, not the construction.

Before you order
Does the central compartment take space from the bag?
It uses the middle of the depth, which is the part that was least usable anyway. What you gain is two reachable compartments instead of one pile — the total volume barely changes.
Will the pale leather darken?
Yes. The handle and corners are uncoated leather and they deepen with handling, from pale honey towards amber. The canvas stays exactly as it is, so the change is visible against it.
How do I clean coated canvas?
A barely damp soft cloth, nothing solvent-based. Keep water off the pale leather trim — on uncoated leather it leaves a permanent ring.

The canvas is printed and coated as a length of cloth, and the run decides how many bags come from it. The uncoated trim has to be matched across each bag from the same batch of hide.
