01 — The idea
Weight is the thing nobody publishes and everybody feels
A bag is carried for eight hours and looked at for eight seconds, and yet the measurement almost never appears in a listing. On a crossbody it matters more than on anything else, because the whole load hangs from one shoulder for the entire day. Four hundred and fifty grams empty is what this one starts at — and the number is at the top of the page rather than absent from it.
02 — Design
One face carries the pattern, the other carries the closure
The perforated motif is cut through one whole panel; the opposite face is plain apart from a leather tab and its snap. Nothing is doubled up and nothing competes — you see one thing or the other depending on which way the bag is turned.
The perforation is cut rather than printed, which is the difference between a pattern that is part of the panel and one sitting on top of it. There is leather behind it, so it is a motif and not a set of holes into the bag.

03 — Build
Unlined, which is where the weight went
Open it and there is no fabric interior — you are looking at the back of the leather. That removes a layer across both panels and the gusset, and on a 29 by 30 centimetre bag it is most of the difference between 450 grams and something noticeably heavier.
It also means the seam allowances are finished, because nothing covers them. An unlined bag has the same requirement as a reversible one: the inside has to be made properly, since it is on display every time the tab is unsnapped.

04 — Versatility
Forty-five centimetres of strap adjustment
Eighty-three puts it on the shoulder at the hip; a hundred and twenty-eight drops it to a long crossbody over a coat. Both ends of that range are usable because the body is only seven centimetres deep — a flat bag hangs correctly at any height, which is the thing a deep one cannot do.
05 — What it holds
Taller than it is wide
Thirty centimetres of height against twenty-nine of width means things stand rather than lie flat — a bottle upright, a long wallet vertical, a tablet against the back panel. That proportion is what gives a seven-centimetre bag a real capacity.
The exterior pocket on the back is the part you will use without thinking: it faces the body, so it is the fastest place to reach and the least accessible to anyone else.
06 — The value
Why this makes sense
Leaving a bag unlined is the harder choice, not the cheaper one. There is no fabric to cover a rough seam, so every edge inside has to be finished to the same standard as the outside — and the perforated panel has to be cut from hide with nothing in it, because each opening frames the leather beside it.

Before you order
Why is the weight a range?
Leather is a natural material and its thickness varies slightly between hides, so a bag with this much panel area lands somewhere between 0.45 and 0.6 kg. Giving one number would mean quoting the lightest one.
Can anything fall through the perforation?
No. There is leather behind the cut panel — it is a motif through one layer rather than an opening into the bag.
Does an unlined bag mark inside?
The inner face is leather and will darken slightly with use, which is normal and not visible unless the tab is open. An open pen is the only thing that will leave a permanent mark.

A cut panel needs a clean hide
Every perforation puts a frame around the leather beside it, so a natural marking that would disappear on a plain panel is on display here. Most of each skin cannot be used for the cut face.
