01 — The idea
Small bags are hard to get things out of
A flap on a small bag leaves you working through a gap the width of your hand. A zip across the top is barely better. This one runs around three sides and curves down at each end, so the whole top folds open and you can see the bottom of the bag at a glance. On a bag this size that is not a detail — it is the difference between using it and emptying it onto a table.
02 — Design
Gathered, not pressed
There are two ways to quilt leather. You can stitch a grid through padding and get a flat, regular diamond. Or you can gather the leather itself as you stitch, so it ripples between the seams in soft vertical waves that are never twice the same.
The second is what this is, and it is why the surface catches light in bands rather than points. It also means every bag is slightly different, because the gathers fall where the hide lets them.

03 — Build
Look at the bottom
The base is flat, reinforced, and carries four metal feet at the corners. That is the part of a bag that decides how it ages: a bag without feet is set down a thousand times on café tables, train floors and office carpet, and the leather takes every one of them.
It is also what lets the bag stand on its own rather than tipping onto its face when you let go of it.

04 — Versatility

With the strap off it is a handle bag, held low, doing the job a small structured bag does best. With the strap clipped on and let out, it hangs across the body and stops being something you have to think about. Both are the same bag; only one piece changes.
05 — What fits
A small bag, honestly described
This is a small bag. It takes a phone, a card holder or slim wallet, keys, a lipstick and a pair of folded sunglasses, and it takes them comfortably rather than tightly. It does not take a tablet, a water bottle or a folder, and nothing about the shape suggests otherwise.
What the shape does give you, unusually for the size, is real depth front to back. It is a rounded body rather than a flat envelope, so things sit inside it rather than stacking against the leather — which is also why it keeps its outline when it is full.

Before you order
Will the gathers flatten out?
They are stitched in, not pressed in, so they stay. The leather will soften with handling and the waves will become a little deeper rather than shallower.
Can I wear it on the shoulder without the strap?
No — the top handles are short and meant for the hand or the crook of the arm. The removable strap is what makes it a shoulder or crossbody bag, and it is included.
Does the zip open all the way?
It runs the length of the top and curves down at both ends, so the opening folds well back. You can reach the bottom corners without tipping the bag.
