01 — The idea
Black is safe in daylight and invisible after dark
In an evening room — low light, warm bulbs — a black bag stops being a colour and becomes a shape. Burgundy does the opposite: dark enough to sit with anything, but with enough red in it that every warm light in the room finds it. Lacquer deepens a colour rather than brightening it

Before you order
How dark is the burgundy?
Dark enough to pass for black at a distance and in low light, and clearly red under any warm or direct light. If you want a colour that announces itself in daylight, this is the wrong one.
Does patent leather crack?
Not on flat panels that do not flex. Cracking happens where lacquered leather is folded repeatedly, which is why patent suits a structured shape like this one rather than a soft slouchy bag.
Are the measurements exact?
They are given as approximate and rounded, because this shape is measured across a flap that curves. Expect a few millimetres either way rather than centimetres.
