01 — The idea
A turn-lock is a lovely closure and a slow one
That is the trade every flap bag makes: the closure that looks best is the one you least want to operate one-handed at a ticket barrier. The answer is not a faster lock — it is a second way in. An open pocket across the back panel takes whatever you need every few minutes, and the flap then stays closed for the things you do not.
02 — Design
Quilting that runs through the handle
The diamond stitch carries across the flap, down the sides and over the gusset without breaking line at the seams, which is a cutting problem rather than a stitching one — every panel has to be positioned so the diamonds meet at the edges. Skip that step and the bag still looks quilted; look at a corner and you can tell immediately.
The handle is a rolled leather arc on pivoting fittings, so it folds flat against the top when you are carrying by the chain instead of standing up and catching on things.
Champagne-gold hardware: warmer than yellow gold, and much easier to live with against pink than a bright finish would be.
03 — Build
Lined in leather, not in fabric
The inside is leather rather than a printed textile. It costs more and adds a little weight, and in return the interior does not fray at the seams, does not catch on keys and does not look tired eighteen months before the outside does.
The body is divided rather than left as one pocket, and at eight centimetres deep that division is what keeps a phone standing upright instead of lying across everything else.

04 — Versatility
Handle, shoulder, or across the body
The chain is leather-threaded and doubles back on itself, so the same strap gives a short shoulder drop or a long crossbody one without any extra hardware. Tuck it inside and the bag becomes a top-handle piece with nothing hanging from it — which is the version that belongs at a dinner table.

Is the back pocket secure?
It is an open slip pocket — quick by design, not locked. Use it for a card or a phone you are reaching for constantly, and keep a wallet behind the flap. We would rather set that expectation than let the pocket be a surprise.
Can the chain be worn crossbody?
Yes. It doubles back on itself for the shoulder and opens out to its full length to sit across the body, so both positions come from the same strap with nothing to unclip or swap.
How do I care for quilted leather?
A dry soft cloth, drawn along the stitch lines rather than across them. Store it lightly filled so the quilt keeps its relief — an empty quilted bag left folded will hold the fold in the diamonds.
