01 — The idea
Almost every bag makes you choose between the two
A flap looks right and is slow to open. A zip is fast and secure and leaves a bag looking like a case. Putting a zip underneath a flap gives you both, and it changes how the bag is actually used: you can leave the turn-lock undone all day and the bag is still closed, which nobody with a flap-only bag can do.
02 — Design
Canvas for the body, leather for the top
The lower body is canvas and everything above it — the top section, the flap, the handle and the strap — is calf leather. That split is not decorative. The top of a small bag takes all the handling: it is gripped, lifted, opened and closed dozens of times a day, and canvas would show that within a season.
The canvas stays where it does its own job: on the panels, where it is lighter than leather and takes rain without marking.

03 — Build
A trapeze holds its shape without a frame
The body is wider at the base than at the top. That geometry is self-bracing — the panels lean inward against each other, so the bag keeps its outline without a board or a stiffener anywhere inside it.
It also means the weight sits low. On a small bag worn on a long strap, a low centre of gravity is what stops it turning over as you walk.

04 — Versatility
Ninety-six centimetres, or none at all
The strap is a flat leather band rather than an adjustable webbing, which is why it hangs cleanly rather than bunching at a slider. Ninety-six centimetres puts the bag at the hip across the body; taken off, the short top handle holds it in the hand and the bag reads as a small case rather than a crossbody.
05 — What fits
Seven centimetres, on a twenty-centimetre bag
That ratio is what makes this small bag usable rather than decorative. A phone, a wallet, keys, a compact and a lipstick go in and sit beside each other on a floor rather than being stacked flat against the panels.
What it will not take is anything large. Twenty by seventeen is a small footprint, and the trapeze narrows towards the opening — so anything wide has to go in at the base rather than straight down.

Before you order
Do I have to use both closures?
No, and that is the point. The zip alone closes the bag completely, so the flap can be left unbuckled for quick access without anything being open. Both together is the secure setting.
Is the strap adjustable?
It is a fixed flat leather band at about 96 cm, which is a crossbody length. It detaches entirely, and the short top handle is what covers hand carry.
How do I clean canvas and leather together?
Brush the canvas dry and spot-clean it with a barely damp cloth; wipe the leather separately and dry. Do not soak the bag — the two materials dry at different rates and that is what leaves a line at the join.
